As many of you may or may not know, there are a cuple of us who work as part of event security and stewarding at Celtic park. I spoke about the recent behaviour of away fans against Dunfermline in midweek so I’d like to add an article from the other side of the fence as it were. So bare with me.

Ok, well we turned up at Celtic park as usual,in what turned out to be one of the worst days imaginable for a game of football. High winds, gales at times with torrent after torrent of heavy rain, seemed unlikely to give up on it’s quest to dampen the mood at Celtic park.

So we sit as usual during the prematch briefing and are made aware of a few swift and immediate changes to our stewarding policy. Obviously with recent accusations of sectarian chanting or whatever you deem it to be, decisions were made to change the setup in regards to policing the stadium with celtics own staff as opposed to sub contractors etc. This decision wasn’t taken lightly either. So to our surprise we were asked that sincere had been doing a good job at tackling the problems in the away end at 120, we were given a chance to join the ranks, and a permanent move over to 111. Well we jumped at the chance, but soon wondered if we had made the right move.

The answer to this was as simple as it would ever get…..after the behaviour we dealt with from Dunfermline fans on Wednesday night, we were a little surprised as to how different the attitude was in 111. Let me be the first to say, that I for one am delighted to now be working in 111 with the green brigade. They were actually a decent bunch of lads, who genuinely know the script and play the game fair, but that’s my opinion, being right in amongst this lot gave me a better appreciation for what it is they are out to achieve.

The only issue I dealt with today was a few hangers on who tried jumping over from surrounding sections, these guys were the ones out looking to be a bit problematic, but in general the green brigade were in good form, and do what they do best, entertain the thousands of supporters and drum up a decent atmosphere…..these guys deserve plaudits for their efforts and I believe they are misrepresented by a select few who thing the have a badge of honour be thinking they are in the green brigade when really they have no place in their at all.
So respect where it’s due, these guys are right to feel that they are being criminalised for what they do,as it’s a stigmatic image that they do not merit, they are actually all decent blokes, good banter and no trouble.
I wanted to bring that up,not as a biased bit of reporting, certainly not,as there were like I said the hangers on who had no place in there, just trying to jump sections and playing the hard man, just to prove point that wasn’t going to see them win out in the end anyway.
The differences between 111 and the away crowd we dealt within 120 just 3 days prior is staggering…..just to make that clear…….funny that, isn’t it.
Well anyway kick off approaches and out come the obligatory banners, hitting out at certain things, mostly to do with the green brigade rebel, skull in hooded top with a press reported behind him painting a shadow with horns and the like, very good banner that highlighted a valid point,so fair play. Within the first ten mins of the game they got fired up bringing in the atmosphere that only they can, getting the 48,406 who attended right into it. 2 nil up within 8 mins, and it looked like it could be a rout, someone was due a gubbing today, and the mob from paisley were onto a hiding.
Samaras sees his shot tuck under the goalkeeper as the ball spun away from the keeper in the rain soaked pitch and trundles slowly over the remaining 2 yards and into the net, Gary Hooper made it 2 just a few mins later and ended up topping of the game with a well earned hat trick. A wonderful goal from the young starlet Mckeogh was enough to send the crowd home reasonably pleased and see the gap for now drop by 2 thirds in just a week,to just a four point gap.

Celtic played well at times in what might have ended up being a bit of a tough contest, but the result was never in doubt, and the Celtic of old proved that they have enough quality to hurt teams.

Celtic showed today, especially with the terrible weather that they could get the ball down and play some decent football. Samaras to his credit has being playing better recently,to a consistently decent level, effort today was acceptable. Forest was also playing well. Hooper got involved a lot more in the build up of play and got rewarded with his goals.

Its looking decent for Celtic and it stands them in a decent shape for the midweek Europa league clash with atletico Madrid. Celtic can take great confidence from today’s game and put this into motion when the spaniards arrive for the final home tie in the group. It certainly won’t be easy, but if they play as good as they did today,it could be another well earned 3 points to keep them in Europe just that little bit longer.

So to summarise, Celtic played as good a game as we’ve seen in a few weeks, and scored a few good goals, and from coming from working consistently with away supporters to working with the green brigade, giving you an honest account of what goes on their, today all in all has been great.

So on to midweek for the euro tie and see if we can keep the run of form going. Hail hail.

Just home from a long shift at Celtic park, working in amongst the travelling fans.
First up lets get the football side of this article out of the way first. A decent performance again at times, which saw celtic take a comfortable first half lead. A couple of good goals scored and some decent play and possession. Second half got a bit ropey, with a missed penalty, which seemed to unsettle the team a little as the away side picked up a bit and scored in the latter part of the second half, leaving a number of fans to question if Celtic would leave with 3 points. In the end they did and we now have just a 7 point gap, almost half of what it was just a few days ago.
It’s not looking too badly now it has to be said. But one game at a time.
Now on to the real talking point for me. It starts around 7:20pm,after what had been up until then a fairly routine shift. This changed instantly when a group of travelling fans decided it would be fun to walk through the turnstile areas outside the ground, shouting derogatories and making the usual obscenities towards Celtic fans, all while carrying union jacks and rangers scarfs etc.
So approaching kick off,I returned to inside the arena, taking up my usual position in amongst the away fans, and was immediately battered with the usual foul mouthed comments etc.
It has to be said out of the 250 that travelled,it was a specific group of around 40 of them that caused no end of bother. They were constantly hurling abuse at the fans closest to the segregated area, but the Celtic fans down that end didn’t do themselves any favours by getting involved.
The usual banter occurred but the vast majority of these young males, around 16 years old, admitted that they were indeed of the blue persuasion and didn’t even support the pars. They questioned why they were being targeted by stewards and police and that the paddy McCourt chants etc were left unchallenged.
I am aware that the dunfermline fans made several complaints regarding “offensive chanting” by Celtic supporters,a few of who claim that several Celtic fans closest to them in area 118 and 119 were chanting IRA slogans…..this I can confirm to my knowledge,I did NOT hear anything of the sort.
These guys were only doing this to cause trouble, and that was evidenced even before they set foot into the ground. Some of the insults and chanting they did was far far worse than anything I have heard at Celtic park in a very long time.
It’s seriously about high time that this sort of thing is booted well out of football. Yob culture is creeping steadily into the football stadia in this country. Yes, it’s always been there but its getting worse. I asked 3 police officers to assist in the removal of a couple of away fans who broke the laws of conduct within the ground, yet police did nothing.
Football in scotland is fast becoming a joke, and it seems as though, young teenagers can travel around the country and make vile comments to other fans and its ok, because they are young and just being,as one policeman said…”silly”.
That’s not being silly,it’s thuggish,it’s disgusting and it serves no purpose in football. Banter is fine, but come on,why does every chant have to be about insults and hatred?
I heard the chant dozens of times, ” parkhead is a sh!7ehole,I want to go home”, well why didn’t they leave.
After the game there were a few pars fans who gave statements to police regarding what they believed they heard. Can state right now, that they are just looking for trouble, nothing more, nothing less, just out to wind up others and cause problems.
It’s time the rules changed regarding chant etc. The stadia codes of conduct legislation obviously doesn’t work,as this problem is only getting worse, and the policing of such things is only getting worse also.
Maybe its time that they looked a new structures regarding ticket policy, names and a Address of each travelling fan, take it to a new level, make it so theres no hiding place for any fan,of any club, including our own, that if you act in an unsociable manner, and cause problems, you will be dealt with.
Time to change the game.wipe out the thug culture, which to be fair is in the minority not majority, but when the minority start their trouble, there is no question that it’s hard for others on the outsides of these things, not to get involved.
Fans need to chill and leave the trouble out of the games,it’s doesn’t serve up an attractive advertisement for Scottish football.
On another note, the Celtic fan that launched the cigarette lighter into the away fans after the game, will be wishing he hadn’t, looks like a ban may be on it’s way my friend.
And that’s something we all so not what to see or hear, let’s clean the game up and make it about the football….,that IS why we are here….is it not?

UEFA probe cop named.

The police officer who complained about Celtic to UEFA has been named as former REFEREE Eddie Smith. The former whistler, turned whistleblower as he complained about “several instances of offensive chanting” during the 3-1 Europa League victory over Rennes at Celtic park almost 2 weeks ago.

The superintendant cop is also believed to have made several comments about said incidents to SPL officials who were also in attendance at the match.

The former whistler isn’t immune from his share of controversy either. In a couple of incidents in SPL games against St Mirren in 2008, he awarded Celtic a 30 YARD free kick late on, which Shunsuke Nakamura scored it, leaving an irate Gus MacPherson to complain to SFA regarding it.
He is also claimed to have given the St Mirren boss a wink after awarding celtic a penalty in the opening game of the following season. Which was given after a Will Haining foul, saw him sent off.

But his latest big decision could see Celtic dragged up to UEFA’s dock to face possible punishment on December 8.
Celtic are preparing their response to UEFA and have confirmed they are “looking into the claims”, which are believed to centre on songs about the IRA.
But behind the scenes they have been surprised at Smith’s involvement, describing his actions as “unprecedented”.
This, however, has been shot down by the police who have described his post-match debriefing with the delegate as the accepted protocol.
A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said: “For Eddie to speak to the delegate after the match is nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, it is standard practice.
“We can confirm there were a number of instances during the game of singing offensive songs and inquiries are ongoing to detect the offenders.”
The club are understood to have been taken by surprise by the action from UEFA, who have not confirmed what charge Celtic may face or when any disciplinary hearing may take place.
A Celtic Park source said: “This is quite unprecedented as no issues were raised to the club during the match and the police didn’t inform us directly about their concerns.”
Celtic last month urged fans to stop singing pro-IRA chants after being “inundated” with complaints from their own supporters following their 2-0 defeat by Hearts at Tynecastle.
Lothian and Borders Police launched an investigation into the “singing of sectarian songs” following the game on October 2.
Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell said: “Chants glorifying the Provisional IRA are totally unacceptable.
“We have dealt with it at Celtic Park and we will do all we can to make sure it doesn’t happen home or away.”
Possible UEFA sanctions include fine and ban on supporters.

Well it was coming! Of course it was coming. It was just a matter of where and when. The Celtic faithful finally find themselves back under the microscope again for “sectarian” chanting.
There had been many a suggestion as to what this alleged chanting was, but we all clearly know what these things are. Obviously the charge in question I believe relates to the chanting at Celtic park in the last Europa League match against Rennes, where a “section” of home supporters were accused of chanting in verses referring to the IRA.
As some may or may not know,a couple of us working on this forum site work in various capacities at Celtic park, and can absolutely 100% confirm that the claims of said police officer who reported the incidents to the UEFA match delegates are correct,to the point that they did indeed happen.
But as many have seen all over the media,Internet blogs and elsewhere, many Celtic fans are concerned that this will land Celtic in serious trouble. So let’s look at this.
Where does the chanting originate at the Celtic games?it’s safe to say that it starts in the regions of 111, that isn’t up for debate. We all know the political stances that they take at times, but this is in no way,by any means saying that they dont try their best to bring an atmosphere to Celtic park.
A few chants have reared their heads in recent months and I for one, when I hear it at Celtic park am sick of it. IRA chants,Fenian army and others…..what does this have to do with football? Yes there will be many who say,”it’s party of society,it’s now part of the game,so deal with it”, but that’s wrong,I go to watch football, belt ma lungs out and support the team,I don’t want involved in Irish political chanting etc.
There are just some things that don’t need to be instigated at Celtic park. Over the radios at Celtic park all we hear is ” aggression from 111,verbal abuse from 111,sectarian chanting from 111″. It must stop. Nobody is above the law, nobody, everyone at Celtic park is paying for the privilege of parking their arses on a green seat, all in the name of wanting to watch a football team become a success. That’s the name of the game is it not?….football…not ,not fienianarmyball or any other sectarian related phrase.

Now saying that not everyone is above the law, that takes me to the next point. Who in the he’ll does this police officer think he is. He by all accounts that we are aware of,didnt report this to the club immediately on hearing what he complained about. He didn’t report this to his chief officer on duty or any other member of the police. Instead he took it upon himself and sneakily went straight to the UEFA delegates at the game against Rennes and complained. Now have I a Problem with him pointing out that what was being sung was not acceptable and offensive,of course not,I agree with him,but it’s the way that he went about his act against the fans and the club by not following the correct protocol.
The officer in question should be investigated and punished for not taking the correct course of action, not for the fact that he reported the incident,of that he isn’t in any way guilty,as I believe many celtic fans at park head are complaining about their own also.

It seems a bit bizarre that some sections of support feel stringing about being seen as not being criminalised like others for the same actions, but continue to defy the laws they are trying to set against others.
Surely it isn’t one rule for one,and one for another.

This sectarian garbage has gone on for long enough, and it’s one of the main reasons that Scottish football is on it’s knees,in the gutter. Football in scotland is dead, and instead yob culture, modern warfare if you will has taken it’s place. Football now is nothing more than a political and religious platform for those who choose to continue their individual hate campaigns against anything or anything they don’t agree with.
Now ask yourself why nobody wants to touch Celtic or rangers with a bathrooms and I’m sure you will be smart enough to figure it out.
We talk about change in football, well if Celtic are found guilty of such chanting, you can bet your hoops top that any changes to the game now, won’t be as favourable to Celtic as you think.

Celtic claimed all three points at Fir Park, against a battling Motherwell side. Celtic created a couple of chances early on,in an evenly matched first half. Motherwell took the lead after a dozen first half minutes. A hooked cross come shot came across the goal while Adam Matthews was caught off guard while motherwell found a lot of empty space in the box to head home from a few yards.

Pressure was on Celtic to find a quick response, and that was found a couple of minutes later, when a ball deep in the box met the lifted foot of stokes who rattled it off the boot into the roof of the net.

Celtic had a few chances which they didn’t capitalise on,and it looked in the second half that Motherwell might be the hungrier of the two teams as they pressed to find a second goal.

Gary Hooper celebrates winner.

But that changed when the hoops gaffer made 2 changes after the hour Mark. A swap of Kris Commons off for Hooper and Samaras off for Paddy McCourt changed the tine of the game, where paddy showed his usual trickery in the box,and had a ball from stokes across the face of goal found hooper to take it home on the line. Celtic held on for 3 points to go back second in the table with a game in hand over Motherwell.

A well deserved result, although there were no major mistakes, still a lot of work to be done in defence at set pieces etc.

Not a lot to complain about today, felt the referee could’ve given a few more bookings to the home side for persistent fouling. And felt we had a couple of clear cut chances that the team could’ve done a lot better with.

Plus points today, I am one of Samaras’ biggest critics, I personally do not like him, simple fact is he has bags of talent when he really shows it,but in 3 or 4 years his return in goals and performances has been disgraceful to put it politely…..BUT…that’s two games or so now that he has improved to an acceptable level. Against Stade Rennais he played well, and got into runs and got up well in the air to set up stokes in mid week, doing the same again today to head on for stokes again to score. A bit more hungry from him,a bit of effort,so pleased for once that he is contributing a least a decent share for a change.

Forrest also gets pass marks, felt Wanyama got about well, and generally everyone did not too badly. It was a massive 3 points today, and would love this to continue on now,and be the turning point to what has honestly been a disgraceful season if standards are anything to go by.
Time to push on now,and continue this small run of decent results now,a bit of desire to win now,a bit of dig,a bit of confidence. Time to start finishing teams off now and get the points deficit down to respectable figures before December 28.

Well it had to be done. It had to. Yes, we had to go out and fight, had to give it a go, had to get 3 points to keep any slight glimmer of hope of progressing in the Europa League alive, along with it, Celtic’s ever failing season.

I turned up at Celtic park as usual to work, around 4pm, in preparation for what could have been a long, long night if Celtic’s recent performances were anything to go by.
Standing around trackside with other colleagues going through the usual motions, then at half six the gates opened, and in stormed 600-700 Rennais fans, as few of who had been heavily influenced by the cheese and wine they had clearly been tucking into before their arrival. But credit where due, they weren’t really any trouble, for travelling fans from the continent they were very pleasant and when asked did what they were told.

So after brushing up on the French and having some banter, around ten mins before kick off it started to pour down torrentially for about ten mins. I thought, here we go, another was out, a sign of things to come, and after the away side took the lead within 2 mins, few would have thought anything other than a complete wash out, but….

Maybe that little rain shower was out at the right time, giving the pitch a good cleaning of all the bad energy that seems to have blighted it in recent matches.
Celtic got it together and produce a decent performance against a well pollished side. Celtic putting out a somewhat weakened team, so even a draw would probably have been accepted after Rennais went ahead at the start of the game.

A good double from Stokes settled the nerves and in a way reaffirmed to the 26,233 fans who turned up, that when we play well we can beat good teams. Rennes are a good team, not great, but very good, they are bearable and it showed in the end, and to be honest most of the teams problems seemed to be down to make shift team selection, rather than some poor performances.
That game last night for now, should give Celtic the confidence to push on, and apply that to Motherwell on Sunday. If nothing else it’s kept Lennon in a job for now. Let’s hope they can use this game as a catalyst for turning round a very poor season.

Hoops, we did it again.

Yes, another couple of points dropped. Oh how things change,in just 3 days.
Celtic are in crisis mode….yes, crisis mode. Anyone who believes otherwise needs to come down off that cloud up there in cuckoo land, seriously.
For over 4 years now since the demise of the Strachan era, we have been belittled by a heartless board of directors, who brainwash us into thinking that our balance sheet is a success and that this should be considered a title victory in itself each season. How wrong they are.
Mr Desmond has contributed nothing to Celtic. He can’t even be bothered to show up at AGM meetings etc, the most important meeting on the club calendar and the major shareholder can’t even give you,yes you,the passionate, hard working, generously paying Celtic fans. You know…the fans that go home at night after spending all day travelling to the games, spending the vast amounts of money on their countless and endless forms of merchandise, the fans that go home and put up without the good, bad and ugly sides of the Celtic performances.
It was guys like me,back in the day that spent thousands travelling the world to follow the club, unfortunately that isn’t so much the case these days as football is all money.
Guys like me and many others that as kids, played down the public parks from8-9 in the morning till midnight almost every day that we could, emulating the heroes of that era.
Most football players now just want the money,it’s a fact that in the world today, everything is centred around money.
The difference is,many celtic fans would give anything to pull on the hoops and play for free,at least i would, but if I earned what many people earned in a year,in just one week,id be damn sure I kicked my c**t in for that club, before I picked up my salary.
Celtic in 4 years has had 3 managers in Strachan,Mowbray and now Lennon, each one of them ended up losing a league title, anyone see a pattern developing…..it seems as though, that no matter the man guiding this sinking ship, nothing will stop this ship on it’s colission course with failure.

Where does the blame lie? With the board?the major shareholders?the players? Manager? The fans?…well it all can be held accountable.
1) the board: these guys are conmen, plain and simple. Yes on one hand they are very good businessmen, they know how to keep the bank managers sweet. But they do not have a clue what it takes to run a football club. Many board members will come and go,earn shedloads of cash then move on, new guys will come in and the process gets repeated. Celtics fans will forever be there, loyal to the cause, and picking up the ever increasing tab to fund the club on the park, where it continues to fail spectacularly each year.
Mr lawwell and his cronies have been pocketing large sums of your cash, while investment in this club and it’s improvements in the team are left at around £8-10m a year. Mr Desmond has been at the club for too long, contributed nothing to the cause,I’ve probably spent more on Celtic than he has. One very alarming fact I want to point out is that Celtic have FIVE…FIVE major shareholders in britains richest top 100 football investors. More than chelsea, man u,man city, arsenal,Liverpool and rangers. All five of celtics big money men have a combined fortune of around quarter of a billion pounds between them. Does that not tell you all you need to know. These guys are crooks, and they fool you into thinking they have the best interests of celtic football club at heart, when in truth they break each hoops fans heart year in year out with complete failure.
2)manager and back room staff: 3 of celtics most loved and most constant defensive/attacking players, now run our team. A decent winger who had good control in midfield in alan Thompson,a big no nonsense brrick shit house of a defender in mjalby and a defensive midfield maestro, and one of celtics best captains in Neil Lennon….yet these guys can’t pick a team that can win consistently enough. They haven’t selected the same back four once this season, well i think they have on possible 3 occasions but that is it. They can’t sort out tactics to save themselves.it’s just not working for them. Time to move on.
3)the fans aren’t to blame, but if anything the one thing they can be blamed for is that sections of the support put up with this crap as they are more interested in just getting one over on the rangers. As far as I knew yes getting one over on them was part of it,but it wasn’t the be all end all of Celtic football club. Celtic is supposed to be a club that we can live our dreams from,we want success,we want glory,we want trophies,we want euro glamour ties,we want progress,we want passion,we want spirit, fight, determination, and most of all a team we can be proud of.
But oops,we’ve gone and done it again, we’ve made a complete mess of it all again, and the blue half of glasgow is pissing itself at OUR MISFORTUNES. Time to change this now, before it goes drastically wrong.

Wednesday night around 8pm,many of you,as I was, were probably sitting thinking that we were about to be on the end of another embarrassing and damaging result for the club, against it must be said an underachieving hibs side.
They flew out the traps and got what they deserved within a few mins and it didn’t look to be our night. Had a glorious chance to go 2 nil up proved fruitful,it would have been over.
But the glorious game of two halves proved to be just that. A dogged Celtic came out the traps in the second half and left hibs wondering what the he’ll had just happened,as a 25 mins blitz put the Edinburgh side well out of the running.

So fast forward to the game today, many would expect the game to be a formality, and given the turnaround in midweek, few people would have bet against Celtic completing the job today….well wrong,it didn’t happen did it.

Celtic had a few chances but again as we have seen a lot this season, chances were not taken. This cost us the league last year if I’m not mistaken….too many draws and dropped points.

For me,you can say what you like, but I will always back our manager until his last game, win lose or draw, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be critical of his position at the club.

Does Neil Lennon deserve to manage this club, yes. But have recent results proven to be too much for the park head faithful…undoubtedly yes. So outweigh the good and bad, and to me I stand by my opinion that he cannot prolong this underachieving for much longer. We could be so far behind by Xmas that it would be deemed laughable to even believe right now we still have the best chance to win the league. Never mind winning the league…win bloody games first.

Yes many of you will disagree, but we have really only one of two options. 1) stick with a manager and board that have underachieved in recent seasons, accepting second best as a success. In the hope that in TIME we can turn it round and sail of into the sunset next may with the league title…or 2)change the management team, give them time from now till jan transfer window to sort things out. Bring in new blood to get the job done,or at least retain some ground on the already serious battering we have taken in terms of league trophies is concerned. And hope the worst, most skint rangers team in history has the legs of davie weir at the end of the season and buckles dramatically only for us to snap the title away it the dying games.

In whatever shape or form, this cannot continue, Celtic are in a mess right now, and the irony is, we are all wrapped up in hoping the blue half of Glasgow go to the wall, yet we seem to be the ones getting buried deeper and deeper down the spl table…just a thought.

Personally I would like Lennon to stay and turn it round, but in reality I cannot see how this is possible anymore, even after 18 months or so in charge,we seemed to hit a little high point but haven’t been anywhere near it for long enough. Time for new blood in again. Neil Lennon promised thunder, and god we have it,with the big rain cloud above it. Time for some drastic action before his thunder floods paradise and leaves it in a state that can’t be repaired in time to win the league back.

Like I say will defend him to the end,but surely now the end is near.

Celtic came out on top today after a dogged display saw them take all three points. Celtic controlled the game throughout and threatened a few times to pull ahead. A couple of good goals scored today, hopefully a sign of good things that have yet to come.
Not much more to be said about today’s performance, accept it was a much needed win on the back of a decent game away in Europe. All in all the result was what mattered.
Now on to my real point tonight. Having just returned home from a long shift at Celtic park, my real reason for posting this was that there was a fair chunk of Aberdeen fans today who sought out to create an unpleasant atmosphere for most.
Within 2 mins of the game kicking off,I had to eject one fan for persistent foul language and abuse of one Celtic player, a comment that was so ill-mannered and disgusting that he was thrown out immediately. For obvious reasons I cannot repeat the sentence, but I’m pretty sure even the most decent rangers fan would agree that it would be something to turn ones stomach.
There was the usual f’ing and blinding, which to a point is fair enough, it’s football,it’s meant to drum up emotion.
But some of the comments flying out of the northerners mouths was disgraceful, this is all in earshot distance, you know the sort of mumble under the breath chatter etc, thats meant to be heard for anyone who wants to hear it….u get me?
There’s no place for this at any sporting venue, and at Celtic park,at least efforts are made to stamp this out. Football is all about opinions, just like everything else, but some things should be left away from the game.
Beram Kayal took a few pelters, which saw one guy being asked to leave, and police dealing with him, racial abuse I believe. This just happening not long after the announcement went out before todays game stating the awareness campaign of Celtic AND Aberdeen backing it to stamp it out, within minutes of the game kicking off,one daft lad was thrown out for this comment. Also Lennon was getting it from all angles as well, and police were quick to jump in and let the dons fans know that under no uncertain terms that this behaviour would land them in a cell for the night. Kudos to them.
Bangura also had a few comments made also,of similar nature.
A lot of this was only in general earshot of people close by,but im sure Celtic fans closest to them could hear several disgusting comments made. I believe also a couple of Aberdeen lads were asked to leave after chanting to a disabled Celtic fan near them, after making a few “jokes”.
This kind of behaviour isn’t welcome at Celtic park,as much as it isn’t welcome anywhere else. Today showed me anyway, that if you don’t follow the green and White, then you certainly are against them. Aberdeen fans disgusted me today. I expected the odd little thing that you get from most travelling supporters but some of what was witnessed today was disgusting, and am ashamed in each one of those who sought out to act in the despicable ways they did.
I hope Celtic continue to crack down on this,as I know our fans get heavily challenged when they travel away, rest assured we will treat any supporter travelling to Celtic park with dignity and respect, whoever you are or wherever you may be from, but rules are rules, break them and we will step up the game to seek that justice is done to those who threaten the place we like to think is paradise.
Yob culture in football needs to be addressed as today opened my eyes clearly that some people will stoop to unfounded levels just to cause trouble for us.
Hail hail.

Celtic yet again cost themselves valuable points in the Europa League against Rennes.
A very poor defensive error gave Rennes an unlikely lead. A poor pass back from Cha Du-ri left a helpless Fraser Forster in no mans land,as the ball rolled cheaply past him into the net.
Celtic showed little in the first half and looked sluggish all over the park. The midfield created very little, and a schoolboy own goal made Celtic look like a pub team.
The second half was much better, picked up the pace and created a couple of decent chances. Ledley to be fair did well with the goal, but didn’t really see too much of the goal to guide it home.
Celtic didn’t deserve the 3 points,a draw was fair in the end,but every Celtic fan must be seriously concerned about the discipline in the team when it comes to performances.
Against Kilmarnock and again tonight the defence was a shambles at times. They looked to be all at sea at times, and were broken down quickly and easily at the back. The midfield created little, kayal had a poor game, and continued to be particularly unimpressive, and lacked any real dig.
All in all after the calamity of the own goal,Celtic did come back reasonably well to gain a point.
But this kind of level of performance cannot be allowed to become the norm for glasgow Celtic. Celtic should be able to compete favourably with these kinds of teams. No disrespect to the likes of Rennes, but Celtic should be able to at least play football against the likes of them.
I sand by what I have commented on in recent weeks. Nei l Lennon is rapidly running out of excuses, fans are running out of ways to continue to back him, I still believe his days are numbered. For o e simple reason….lessons do not seem to be getting learned, and it could get a lot worse in the next few games if things aren’t sorted out and quickly.
Take notng away from coming away from Rennes with a point, any resukt away frohome avoiding defeat has to be credited, but we are the mighty bhoys in green and White, we should be seen as a team that is to be respected in Europe, and to be honest, no one has that respect for us now as a serious threat.
I will take the point we got tonight, but take it as simply one point out of three. It’s not a positive 1 point,as i think the result to be fair flatters the current squad to be fair.
I guess i could be seen as a disgruntled old school Celtic fan,but then again, I’ve seen the good and the bad,and I know celtic can and should be better than this.
Anyway,it’s a point away in Europe,It keeps us in the competition for now. But things must change nag almost immediately if our fortunes are going to change. We have 2 tough games up next against Aberdeen then hibs,we have to be careful or we could be looking up the table at a very big gap come the return leg against rennes in 2 weeks time.
I’d say that Neil Lennon ad the guys have until then before real judgment can be passed as to whether or not our fortunes will change going into the winter months.
But anyway,hail hail.
